Arkansas's Stress, Cognition, and Affective Neuroscience Lab

A SCAN Lab is directed by Dr. Grant Shields, assistant professor in the department of psychological science and the integrative systems neuroscience group at the University of Arkansas. Our research focuses on how stress, affect, and related factors influence cognition and health, as well as the neurobiological mechanisms through which those effects occur. We utilize multiple methods to answer questions of interest, including fMRI, computational cognitive modeling, hormone and immune system assays, and experimental manipulations.
